Tribute & Message From The Family

Edward J. Rounds Sr. of Burlington passed away Tuesday June 5, 2018 at home, he was 87. Ed was born at home on Hinesburg Rd. in South Burlington on December 20, 1930 to Joseph and Julia Rounds. In 1950 he married Sylvia Rounds and shared these last 67 years together. Ed retired from the South Burlington Highway Department. He also served his community as a volunteer/call Fireman for South Burlington for 20 Years and coached his sons in youth baseball. Ed loved fishing and was multi-talented and loved doing projects for his family and friends. Ed is survived by his wife Sylvia and his children Edward (Debb) Rounds, Gary Rounds and Gayle (Michael) Quimby. He is also survived by his grandchildren Jason (Bobbi Jo) Rounds, Craig Rounds, Cody Rounds, Sammi (Jim) Snyder and Shawn (Lindsie) Barone. He was also Grandpa Jewel to 8 great grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his parents, his sisters Margaret and Katherine and his brothers Earl and Frankie, he was also predeceased by his grandson Gary L Rounds Jr. The family is thankful for Peggy and Paula and the caring TLC you gave uncle, and Dr. David Ziegelman and his staff for their wonderful care of our dad. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday June 8, 2018 at 12 (noon) at the Ready Funeral Home South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd. Burlington. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers please consider donating in Ed's memory to the "Make a Wish" Foundation 431 Pine St. Suite 214 Burlington, VT 05401.
