Craig Martin Eschelbach age 55, passed away following a long illness at the UVM Medical Center on Wednesday, April 12, 2017. Craig was born in Natick, MA in 1962, moved to VT as a child, was a long-time resident of Essex Jct., VT. He graduated high school at Essex High School, worked the last 20 years at Fairpoint as a telephone technician at the Milton garage, in Milton, VT. Craig was gruff at times, but he enjoyed having a good time as much as possible. He made it his job to make people laugh, sometimes at his expense, but he had fun doing it. He enjoyed snowmobiling, hunting, cooking and was an avid golfer. He liked all types of music, he loved classical music, but at times rock n roll. He loved to sing at the top of his lungs and make up the words as he went along if he didn't know them no matter where he was. Craig is survived by his brothers, Dane Eschelbach of Essex Jct. VT, Bruce Eschelbach of Salt Lake City, UT, Brad Eschelbach of Barre, VT and sister, Karen Bister of Federal Way WA, his children, Krystal Eschelbach of St. Albans, VT and Nicholas Eschelbach of Enosburg Falls, VT, the mother of his children, Maryanne Bushey who was there by his side when he passed, several nieces and nephews, cousins and many good friends who's lives Craig profoundly touched. Craig is predeceased by his mother, Hazel (Jack) Perry, Step father, Pete Perry, father Carl W. Eschelbach, maternal grandmother, Aliece (Nelson) Jack, maternal grandfather, Roy Winfred Jack, paternal grandmother, Lillian (Hoar) Eschelbach and paternal grandfather, Carl A Eschelbach and nephew Edward Lawrence Bister IV. Visitation will be held at the Ready Funeral Home on 68 Pinecrest Dr. in Essex Jct, VT on April 22, 2017 from 1-3 with a service immediately following. Craig will be cremated from there. There will be a reception at Park Place Tavern in Essex Jct., VT at 5 pm for any adventurous to attend.
