Dorothy N. Taylor Winward, 97, of Burlington, Vermont and formerly of Central Falls, Rhode Island, died among family and friends on May 13, 2018 at Birchwood Terrace. Wife of the late Leonard Winward Sr. who died in 1990. She was the daughter of James C. and Katherine Moro Taylor. Resident of Burlington, Vermont for 18 years, Westfield and West Springfield, Massachusetts for 28 years. Graduated 1938 Central Falls High School, Central Falls, Rhode Island and Felt & Tarrant Comptometer School, Providence, Rhode Island. A member of Queen Esther Chapter No. 2 order the Eastern Star of Pawtucket, Rhode Island and a member and Past Matron of West Springfield Chapter No. 144, and a member of Golden Chapter No. 5 Westfield, Massachusetts and Honorary member of Doric Chapter No. 7 North Hampton, Massachusetts, also a member of Ahlem Temple No. 84 Daughters of the Nile, Springfield, Massachusetts. She is survived by her son, David Winward and wife Rebecca; daughter-in-law, Marylou; grandsons, Richard D. Winward and Jonathan D. Gonnello; granddaughters, Melissa D. Stowe, Carrie Ann Winward, Alexis Winward, Michelle Woffenden and Megan and David Adams; great granddaughter, Ripley Roseanna Adams; niece, Cheryl Little and husband Michael; cousin, Lillian and husband John Equi. She was predeceased by her eldest son Leonard Winward Jr. in 2012. There will be no calling hours. Funeral will be private and burial will be at the convenience of the family at Hillcrest Park Cemetery, Springfield, Massachusetts. The family request in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Shriners Hospitals for Children, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, Massachusetts 01104.
