Harold R. Benoit, 73 of Burlington passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at the McClure Miller VNA Respite House. He was born in Burlington, VT on December 10, 1944 the son of the late Robert and Marion (Durant) Benoit. He graduated from Edmunds High School Class of 1963. On May 11, 1963 he was married to Margaret A. Poulin at Christ the King Church in Burlington. Harold is survived by his wife of 55 years Margaret Benoit of Burlington; their children Robert Benoit and wife Jill of Burlington and Deborah Barron and husband Scott Miller of Milton; his niece Theresa Tom-Gunn of Scotts Valley, CA; four grandchildren, Nathan and Christina Barron, Alec and Cory Benoit; three greatgrandchildren, Logan and Brianna Mitchell, and Dylan; his two step grandchildren Zach and Benjamin Melanson; two brothers, Peter Benoit and wife Marsha, and James Benoit; his sisters Mary Sullivan and husband Pat, Theresa Olio and husband Tony, and by several nieces and nephews. Harold was predeceased by his in-laws Philip and Beulla Poulin; his brothers Kenneth and Wayne Benoit; his nephews Scott and Wayne Benoit, and by his niece Theresa Benoit. Harold's family extends their heartfelt thanks to his nurse Nancy Carlson, the staff at the VNA Respite House and Dr. Jaina Clough for the wonderful care given to him while in their care, and for the compassion extended to his family. Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, June 10, from 3pm to 6pm at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd., Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 11, at 11:00am at St. Mark's Church in Burlington. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations in Harold's memory may be made to the McClure Miller VNA Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Hwy. Colchester, VT 05446.
