James F. Frail passed away peacefully with his wife for 42 years at his side after battling cancer for almost a year on June 6, 2017. He was born July 16, 1952 in Bronx, NY. He settled in South Burlington in 1979. He is survived by his wife Ellen, brother Robert, sister Helen, and 4 children: Jon, Paul, Marc, and Mary. He has 8 grandchildren and one he has raised as a guardian and father figure. For almost 40 years he worked in VT public schools as an administrator, 10 of which at Job Corps. He coached youth sports, ran SB little league, and loved cheering for his NY teams. He was an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Throughout his life, he was devoted to his family and exemplifying altruism; always helping and giving and never asked for anything in return. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, July 11, from 4pm to 7pm at the Ready Funeral & Cremation Service South Chapel, 261 Shelburne Rd. Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 12, at 11:00am in St. John Vianney Church with burial to follow at the Resurrection Park Cemetery Columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations in James memory may be made to the McClure Miller VNA Respite House, 3113 Roosevelt Hwy. Colchester, VT 05446.
