John J. Tardie, 86, passed away and was delivered to Our Lord's waiting arms on May 25th after a long battle with medical issues. He fought fiercely until the bitter end and he will be forever missed. He was born in Jericho and served in the US Marines during the Korean War. He built an extensive bookkeeping and tax preparation business and was still actively pursuing this passion up to his passing. He was also passionate about beekeeping and honey and always made himself available for questions or guidance to those who wanted to get into beekeeping. All who knew him know that his interests and hobbies are too numerous to list. These kept him extremely busy as well as extremely knowledgeable. He could carry on a conversation with anyone that he met. He is survived by his long time loving partner Reina Fuhrman and his children: Jack (Chris), Bob (Elaine), Ken (Heidi), Joan (Kevin) Steele, and Pam (Andy) Byers as well as 19 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Ready Funeral Home and Cremation Services Mountain View Chapel 68 Pinecrest Dr. Essex Jct, VT. A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday June 1, 2017 at 11:00 at St. Thomas Catholic Church, Underhill, VT. Burial will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery.
