Mary Theresa (Lines) Roberts, 87 a lifelong resident of South Burlington passed away peacefully at home with her Daughter Kimberly by her side on January 26th from Alzheimer’s Disease. Mary (Terry) was born in Burlington, Vermont on Veteran’s Day, November 11, 1930. Born to Earnest and Loretta Lines. Mary attended Cathedral High School. She married John Charles (Wroblewski) Roberts on November 23, 1949 at The Cathedral of Immaculate Conception. Mary met John when he started the Naval Reserve on Lake Champlain (where ECHO stands today). Three months later they were married. They built their home in 1956 in the Twin Orchards in South Burlington, VT to raise their family and where Mary remained for 62 years. Mary was the last remaining Matriarch on Duchess Avenue. She was a Domestic Engineer taking care of her children. She cared for her son Bruce who had Cebral Palsy for 16 years at home till his passing. Mary passed away the same date as Bruce. He called her and she flew into his loving arms. Mary had very quick wit and was humorous as could be. She lit up a room with her smile and great personality. Mary could size up a person’s character within minutes of meeting him or her. She was always 100 percent spot on. Mary loved to cook wonderful meals, bake, make beautiful crafts and decorate the house inside and out for all holidays. She loved her high heels and fashionable pant suits. She was a true fashionista. Her Daughter, Kimberly would like to thank the VNA with all the wonderful nurses and LNA’s coming in to help her with her Mother’s care. Also to Age Well for their help with many services that was provided to Mary. Also, a huge thank you to Dr. Robert Luebbers, Mary’s physician for making house calls when in this day and age it is almost unheard of. To Stacey L. Hall who loved Mom unconditionally with her care and went above and beyond to help in any way possible. My Sister from another Mother. Mary is looking down on all of your kindness and expertise and sending kisses and hugs. Along with sticking her tongue out at both of us. Formally known as “quick tongue”. Mom was a Corker! Mom and I love you. To William Hoy who was there for our family in thick and thin. Survivors include her Daughter, Kimberly of South Burlington, Sister, Elizabeth LaBombard of Burlington, Mary’s Grand Dogs, Chanel, Duchess and Sydney along with many nieces and nephews from Vermont and Connecticut.
