Robert LaPlant, 83, passed away in his home on May 25, 2018. There will be no services according to his wishes. Bob was co-owner of Acme Paint & Glass for many years. He also worked in construction, as an electrician and plumber. He loved to keep our home up to his immaculate standards. Working on projects that challenged him was one of his joys; as he had a brilliant mind for that. He assisted his children with many projects through the years. Including renovating a barn into a house for one of his daughters. Bob also enjoyed going to the casino where he seemed rather good with the slots. Car rides around the Chittenden area pleased him during the past couple of years. His sense of humor was on point even during his final days. His family adored his animated stories around the kitchen table and will hold dear to those memories. Bob leaves his 5 children, Steve LaPlant(Colchester), Lisa and DonWheater(Hinesburg), Jill and David Kupic(Phoenix, AZ), Cynthia and Kevin Rocheleau(St. Albans) and Crystal and Michael Hatch(Georgia, VT) and in addition, his grandchildren, Paige, Andrew, Marc, Joshua, Nicole and Ethan. Bob also leaves behind his siblings, Richard LaPlant, Linda Murray, Jean LaCroix, Betty Northrup and Jim LaPlant. He was predeceased by his dear wife, Claire (Cloutier) in 2014, a son, Billy Joe in 1959 and his parents, Mary Della (Allard) and Herbert Peter LaPlant. Special thanks to Laurie LaPlant and his neighbor'sTrish and Ralph. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Visiting Nurse Association (https://www.vnacares.org/ or 1110 Prim Road, Colchester, VT 05446).
