Theresa Eve Provost, 84, of Belwood Ave in Colchester died on Sunday May 27th after battling with a lung disease at Star Farm Nursing Home. Theresa was born March 18, 1934 in Burlington Vermont the daughter of Joseph and Eva LaFountain Bergevin. She was a graduate of Burlington High School class of 1952. Theresa worked in the kitchen catering at the Ohavi Zedek Synagogue for over 30 years often with assistance from her daughter Deb. Theresa was a professional seamstress, she sewed both professionally and as a hobby. She loved to design and sell her quilts at the Champlain Valley Fair, over the years she won multiple prizes and ribbons for her designs. Theresa had a great passion for collecting salt and pepper shakers, she had over 5000 sets and they are all different and came from all over the world. Her face would always light up when she would find one that she did not have. Her greatest joy was gathering together for a holiday and spending time with her family. She also enjoyed her circle word search books and watching the old western TV shows. Theresa is survived by her three children Deborah Latulippe of Bethel VT: Edward Provost of Jericho VT: and Donna Stearns (husband Rod) of Charlotte VT. She was also survived by seven grandchildren Nicky McInnis, Andy Latulippe, Jaime Latulippe, Rodney Stearns, Kristina Grogan, Jennifer Hawkins and Michelle Shackett as well as seven great grandchildren. Theresa was married on November 21, 1954 to Donald Provost who predeceased her in June of 2010. Also, her brother Leon Bergevin and Sister Grace Rivers and her two sons William Provost and Joseph Provost - all deceased. Calling Hours will be held on Thursday May 31, 2018 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at the Ready Funeral Home and Cremation Services South Chapel 261 Shelburne Rd. Burlington. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday June 1, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Holy Cross Catholic Church, Church Rd in Colchester. Burial will follow at New Mount Calvary Cemetery in Burlington. The family will hold a reception after the burial in the Holy Cross Parish Center. In lieu of flowers please donate to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude Pl. Memphis, TN 38105.
